Hey, before this gets brought up I used the search bar and after extensive searching could not find anything like what I'm after.

I want to know what is your all time favorite pedal ever. I'm talking the one pedal that you use all the time, would not take off your board, and would sell your arm for. I'm not putting any particular constraints on it, it can be any pedal. (tuner, distortion, OD, chorus, phaser, EQ, etc.)

Just give me a run down of what pedal it is (make, model) and why you like it so much. Also, how does it fit in with your current rig/genre of music? If you have a tie, give me both. And finally, if your rig is not in your sig can you please provide that as well.

Thanks in advance!!

boss digital delay dd7

if i'm not using it for echo effects, i'm using it for "reverb", cause it can, in a sense, create a reverb sound

other than that, because i play by myself without a group, the other piece i would never take away from my pedal board would be the boss loop station rc2...great fun if used properly

I use my MXR Stereo Chorus all the time, both on bass and guitar. It is super versatile - you can get thick blankets of chorus or very subtle tones. It really helps to fatten up the tone and can do some wacky stuff if needed. The "range" knobs also help a lot because you can apply chorus to either bass or treble to your liking. One of the most versatile choruses out there.

That really depends on your price range i suppose. I've got a Boss gt8 and its pretty damn solid. ran me five hundred bucks four or five years ago. think its around four hundred now.
Fantastic modeling, pretty user friendly for something of its complexity (and i threw away the manual on accident like the third day i had it, and i've been ok)

Right now it's my MXR 10 Band EQ. An absolutely amazing pedal! However that might change as I expand my collection.

Just get it cut a little. It will grow back. Besides why is it so important to look metal? That's just retarded.

why do you want to know, and wouldnt giving your arm be a waste of an arm because you cant even play guitar anymore, and not be able to use pedal?

the gas pedal it makes things go vroom.

Honestly, I'd have to say the Dunlop Crybaby and all its various incarnations.

You could always use your feet, and use your second arm for the pedal.

mine is, my zoom 505II, seeing as its my only pedal.

Haha, well good point. Maybe I should rephrase it to sell your leg. Or maybe your first born.

And I'm just wondering what different pedals people really enjoy using ... and more importantly why they like using them. I guess just to get different ideas of the different tonal possibilities that are out there.

The Boss RE-20 Space Echo. All of the texture in my sound in achieved thanks to this pedal. It's an echo, a delay, a reverb, and produces swirling flanging sounds when it oscillates. I find myself using the tap tempo a lot, too. It and the Digiverb are the only truly essential pedals to my sound. Everything else is just extra.

My vintage Boss Chorus CE-2. It only has the two simple rate and depth knobs but it creates the most lush chorus sounds i've ever heard and do some crazy **** if you put it up at 11

My Visual Sound Route 66. It's sort of cheating since it has two effects on it, but I love a little overdrive and a little sustain for a great lo-fi gritty sound. I almost never turn it off.
#16
My beloved Big Muff. You can make it sound from super-low fuzzy to super-trebly crispy! And everything in between. I love it because it sounds so raw, yet extremely powerful, with incredible sustain. Which is awesome for my love of garage rock! I would never get rid of it.

Mine is no doubt my Pod XT Live.

I've gotten some amazing live tones and direct USB cable recording tones with the thing. So versatile.

I love all of my pedals, but my Fulltone OCD is really handy.

Then again, my Crunch Box is just amazing for leads...

And my Big Muff just feckin' rocks....

And my DD-7 is super badazz...

I like my DODFX75C Flange a lot. Got it for $25 on eBay. It's really a flange, chorus, and phaser put all into one, so it sounds great for anything pretty much. It fits in my music style because I like to play a lot of Iron Maiden, which it can be great for (especially their solos).

The only thing I can think wrong of it is that it eats battery's like crazy.

Definitely my Vox V-847. Best Wah around.

Hmm...

I don't really know anymore. I don't use pedals much, but I would say any kind of Crybaby Wah. Nothing is more fun than improvising something with some sexy wah.

I don't use dist. pedals anymore so consider those out of question.

My GNX4 fits your description. The onboard 8 track recorder w/ drum machine and mp3 BT playback is priceless. Every pedal on my pedalboard could be replaced with something similar, but there is nothing on the market that can replace the GNX4.

Throbak Stone Bender. I have never used one, but it sounds godly in the clips.

That or the Fulltone Clyde wah.

The Bad Monkey is the pedal I've stepped on 99% of the times I've stepped on pedals. It sounds just like me, just like I want it. But I've fallen in love more and more into my WH-10 lately. Hopefully I'll get an understanding about my vintage Big Muff, but that day is yet to come.

Either my Bad Monkey, or my Boosta Grande, or my Boss Phase Shifter, or my 535Q, or my RC-20 (volume guv'nor )

Seriously though, I use all my pedals incessantly. My amp is set for low gain. Boosta puts it into light rock/blues, and my Bad Monkey puts the amp into hard rock/Van Halen areas. Run both and I get my metal tone....

My Phase is set for a chorus-y sound, or a uni-vibe sounding setting I found.

But if I could never, ever take a pedal off my board again, it'd probably be my 535Q. Best wah I've played in a while, though I have major GAS for a Picture Wah...

Man I love the pedals I have right now, it is hard to decide...

I would go with the visual sound h20(Chorus and Echo), 2 pedals in one and both effects can be tweeked to very subtle or super lush. It makes for a lot of interesting sounds.

At this point I would love to have an EHX HOG because I am in a very experimental mood at other times the only thing in the world I want is an OD, it totally depends on my mood at the time.

My rig is Various Guitars > OD > h20 > Decimator > ENGL Screamer

Definitely my OCD V3. It works for evey style of music I play (everything from ska to indie to punk to hard rock to blues and everything in between). It just loves my tele and my blues jr, they all get along so nicely. Unfortunately it's not on my board right now because I'm loaning it out to the band that I'm managing. They're in the studio right now (I'm on my way to go spend the night in the studio as soon as I make this post) and it sounds awesome with the rhythm guy's custom PRS and fender hot rod deluxe.

Definately the MXR Distortion III I just bought. It doesn't get a whole lot of attention but it's the sweetest, most musical distortion I've ever played. Sounds great with an OD boosting it too.

It was my ibanez ad9 (analog delay) cause the trippy analog sound is awesome.

but since buying it, its my tubescreamer ts9
