Does anybody else here listen to albums they used to like a few years ago just for the nostalgic value?
The other day, I listened to an album I don't particularly like at all anymore but it brought back some good memories from a few years ago when I listened to it all the time.

I did that the other day. I was looking through my old files and things on my laptop and found some songs I hadn't heard in ages. 'Twas awesome.

I went back and listened to "Waiting For My Real Life To Begin" by Colin Hay, which I haven't heard in years just because of the memories and it really demonstrated what i'd read about in Psych that we attach memories to things because loads of stuff started coming back to me that i'd forgotten. It was cool but I also happen to think that it's an amazing song so it's kind of a double whammy.

Yup. I was listening to some old Offspring the other day, (even though I don't like them a whole lot anymore) and it reminded me of the good ol' days back in the 90's.

I was listening to some Gorillaz a few weeks ago. Reminded me of the time when it was basically all I listened to.

Limp Bizkit (older stuff) anyone? I was listening to them last week and it felt very nostalgic.

I will be seeing them live at Rock Werchter this summer I expect a double amount of nostalgia then.

Oasis' Morning Glory album. I knew all the words and could do a mean Noel Gallagher impression by the time I was 4.

yes!

Its strange when a song comes on my Itunes or on the radio that I listened to loads and it just makes me feel like I did in that year when I listened to it frequently..

and I think of who I talked to and who I was mates with at that time..
"You're a twat!"- That dude in morrisons

"You Ugly git!" - That girl in the restaurant

"You Were a Mistake!" - Mum

just a few of my fans..

Linkin Park brings me back some memories of summer '07.

Especially Hybrid Theory.

It was ages since I listened to it last.

And Cupids Chokehold reminds me of Paris.

Yeah man, had Green Day's International Superhits on the go. Memories...

Yeah, green day were pretty good back in their day, but since american idiot they just seem a tad boring and sorta typical pop/rock.

Hell yes! It's the best feeling in the world listening to an album or a song you used to listen to years ago. Especially if it was in combination with some special event .

If I want to reminisce back to my teenage years I will throw on some west coast gangsta rap (not joking). If I want to go back to my early college years I will listen to like Linkin Park, Offspring, or Lagwagon. After that is too close and somewhat painful to feel nostalgic about.
