Ok so heres the deal...i am gettin a guitar custom made for myself since i found a person who builds guitars for really cheap...i need a back up guitar for my s470 since my band is startin to play gigs and i dont wanna take a chance with the trem...Anyways these are the 2 optons i have for the body
Ash Wood (which i am guessin is swamp ash)
Anegre Wood (have no idea wat it is)

So overall which one would be better tone wise, weight wise etc. Also if it matters i play thrash metal in general and do dab in alternative too (think porcupine tree, APC etc)

Cheers

I wouldn't call what we have here on the Bass Forum a mentality. It's more like the sharing part of an AA meeting.

depends on the ash. Some is good, some is nigh-unworkable.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.
