Why are there rules that you must be 19 to go to some gigs, like Testament and Black Label Society? What happens in there to make the minimum age 19? Is it beer? Is it girls? Can someone help me here?

Because they don't want people like you at their shows.

It's all down to the license of the particular venue.

i'm guessing because its easier to find kids that have a fake id with an age of 18 years old.

They'd play very big bars. They do around here anyway. As for 19, weekday gig maybe and they don't want the high schooler's out?

Honestly, just as everyone says that the teens ruin the shows, many bands agree with it. They would rather have an older crowd

I thought it might be 19 because I'm in Canada and that's the legal drinking age, and no, they're playing at GM Place, where the NHL usually play hockey.

Probably because most bands think that we are too immature to be there, which most of us are. I only get in to 19+ shows cause I help set everything up (speakers, cables, hooking up the soundboard to everything else) during the day before the gig, and so if they try to kick me out, the sound guy just says "Ok, we'll just finish this song, pack up, and then we'll both leave".
#19
They get a more mature crowd who generally have more money to spend.

I've never seen one that's 19. I've only seen 18, and that's because it's being held at a bar, and 18 is the drinking age, which is common sense.
I play by my own rules. And I have one rule; There are no rules... but if there are, they're there to be broken. Even this one.

There are over 19's clubs in Dublin. It's in an attempt to keep Freshers out.

No because plenty of people look 19 and aren't or are 19 and look younger, thereby forcing them to check IDs for anyone who's in between 14 and 30 and making the queues at the bar ridiculously long thereby discouraging people from buying alcohol, which is how they make their money.
If you're not going to drink they don't want you there at all really. Drinks have huge profit margins.

Casinos around here always get the best gigs. Which means I can't go. They had the Black Crowes this summer. I raged.
I love Foxy Shazam more than you.
