-I play heavy metal.
-I like the strat design.
-Would help if it had single coils and humbuckers (so HSS or SHH)
-My budget is $500
-No floating trem because I know I won't get a good one in my price range.

the mh series are awesome. from ltd. i have the mh 400 and it is sounds like something god would play. i got it for 500 plus tax and all at samash. so if youre willing to pay a wee bit more get that. it has a floyd rose. its worth 1000 bucks but because its an older model and theyre making room for the new series they prtty much cut the price in half
i've got a boner for murder

theres some schecters with EMG 81/89, and you can tap the 89 to be a single coil.

I don't NEED to have a single coil, but I'd prefer it.

Our names are really similar. Cool I guess :P

It does.

What's your guys opinion on trems in my price range anyways? Am I doing the right decision? I never had a trem before either, so that's doesn't make it better.

For Ibanez? Sucks. Edge III's are HORRIBLE. For others, like strats, they shouldnt be all that bad, but your not getting anything amazing. There are some ibanez set necks out there that are less than 500. They got quilt tops on em

I wouldn't call a budget "terrible" until it hit below $300...

And if you can't think of any ibanez guitars in the $500 range then you fail. There are tons.

Ibanez has many cheap/quality guitars in that range. Thats not that bad of a budget

WAIT! Schecter C-1 Plus. It has humbuckers, but it's coil tapped (meaning they can be single coil 2) its strat shaped, and its in your budget.

what exactly is a humbucker
is that the big pickup >< im a noob when it comes to pickups
#23
oh kay then you could try a jackson dinky JS1
but that has no single coil only 2 humbuckers

I'd recommend laguna guitars. I've picked a few up and never been disappointed with them. Also, the jackson dinky's are pretty good as well, at least for your budget. If you have the ability to increase your budget it'll expand your choices though.

Yeah, I have a Squire Strat atm right now so no problem.

I might pick consider a trem guitar though. I don't usually abuse the whammy so I think it's worth the consideration.

if you want to keep costs low, you could go EVH style and get a squire or another inexpensive guitar, chisel the pickup mount thingy, and buy a humbucker and install it.
