WTF is right...never even heard of 'pirate metal'. thou for some reason I'm picturing Jonny Depp as the frontman and that one guy from the Stones as lead guitar...maybe Mr. Gibbs as drums. And goblin metal? What you have 4 foot tall toddlers now that sound like Golem from LotR singing metal now?
Have a good one,

ive heard of troll metal.
but not goblin metal.
troll metal was just a cooler name for folk metal.

I think you might mean Trollfest.

They're second album 'Brakebein' is a concept album in which they cross overseas and they also have quite a 'piratey' feel to them.

They're trolls though, not goblins. They'd eat you if they ever saw that.

Check out Goblin ****. It's more heavy/doom metal, but they have goblin in their name, so...

On second thought, they are pretty terrible all round.

The folk melodies are decent at least.

Or Running Wild since they are not homosexual like Alestorm.

Oh sod off. Alestorm are way better.

Why are we even comparing them though? They arent even the same style.

I listened to Running Wild and although they weren't bad I'm not a big fan. like Alestorm better.

I just lost a lot of respect for you.

EDIT: I count three ineliteries in this thread. I'm disappointed in you, UG.

Pre-2000, Running Wild is one of the most consistent bands in metal. They put out classic after classic album. Albums like Blazon Stone, Black Hand Inn, Port Royal, Under Jolly Roger, etc. blow Captain Morgan's Revenge out of the water (pun not intended).

I said that in the pirate metal thread a long time ago and no-one noticed...although i was arguing the opposite way.
