On this day, March 19, 27 years ago, an amazing guitarist by the name of Randy Rhoads was killed in a plane crash. For those who don't know, he formed the band Quiet Riot, but left to join Ozzy Osbourne's band that he was forming after he got kicked out of Black Sabbath. It was then that Randy wrote many of his famous songs and solos, such as, Mr Crowley and Crazy Train. For me, Randy is an inspiration and I wouldn't have started playing guitar if I never heard his playing. He died at 25 years of age at the peak of his playing career.

Here are some good videos if you would like to see them:

Mr Crowley - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNoQt5pKe5g - The solos are at 2:15 and 4:20

Crazy Train - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-lYf7MKDms&feature=related - The solo is at 3:00

I Don't Know- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qjnzYwKqOo&feature=related - The solo is at 3:13

Q: OK, so do you care about the labels — nastiest, edgiest team in the NFL?

Jim Schwartz: It's better than the alternative — meekest, least aggressive, softest team in the NFL.

I wish his recordings were of better quality, his guitar tone sucks almost too much to enjoy on Blizzard Of Ozz.

I can't say "R.I.P. (insert overrated musician's name here)" seriously due to the R.I.P. Dimebag thing that's been going around, but to contribute to the thread...

R.I.P. Randy.

Didn't Tupac invest in that.

I don't like Rhoads' Crazy Train version.
Great guitarist nonetheless.

he didnt even want to go on the plane and no one knew the pilot was on anything, but they got him to go and he buzzed the bus 3 times before they hit it with the wing and hit the mansion.
