I want to start recording some stuff for fun, I use a Mackie Onyx Satellite, and the Tracktion 2 software. How do I get some drum tracks to put in there to record guitar over? Thanks.

there are tons of websites that sell loop sets you can use, or you could something like Superior Drummer to program your own.

I was told to get GP drum tracks and export as MIDI's and pull them up in my recording software, but it won't play them.

they have to be set to control a drum VSTi (like Superior Drummer or NI Battery)

^this. MIDI files don't contain any audio, they are just data.
