that.

if he does not post pics, he obviously has installed a pickup and bridge on his house broom for some brutal sweep picking.

I'm still hoping he has pictures of this. I like firebirds.

Anyone notice that the GB&C goes through phases? First it was explorers (about 5 in 2 weeks started) then it was firebirds (4 in the last two weeks), now it seems like whamolas are the new "it" thing on here

Go to photobucket.com or imageshack.us and upload them, then post them here using IMG codes rather than attachments

The top looks really cool! Great build so far.

And to threadjackers re: Whamolas-- they're cool until you have to listen to someone play them.

Looking good! I'm building a Firebird as well, and in one f the pictures I noticed you have the plans for the guitar? I might have those same plans.
Anyways, looking great! What pickups are you planning on using.

Ok hopefully this works now and baby joel i think we do have the same plans and as for now im going to buy some cheap pickups and upgrade once i find out if the guitar actually plays well cuz this is my first build. im buying a pair of humbuckers from guitar fetish's clearance section-$40 for two gold humbuckers

Photobucket has a reduction facility underneath the box where you upload photos, I select 640 x 480 when uploading pics for forums.

i plan on putting on a tune-o-matic bridge and i was wondering if there is anyway to use one of those with out having an angled neck. would i be able to recess the bridge somehow to do this?

I'm pretty sure all you'd need are those tree string-retainers you find on Strats.
But recessing the bridge would work.

i meant an angled neck not a angled headstock. i think a lot of gibsons have a neck that angles down a couple degrees

You need to route a straight slot for the bridge to sit in.

and I would say AAA ish

Place saddles about 3/4 foward in their travel

put the high e on the scale length, put the low E 1/8" further back.

alright i can do that but what is the reasoning behind that, why wouldnt it be perpendicular to the strings?

The bass side is further away from the scale length because the bass strings need more intonation roomm

TOMs are quote narrow bridges with not alot of saddle travel, so you run the risk of running out of intonation room with a perpendicular bridge, and so moving the bass slightly further back gives you more room.
