i plan on going down to the Taste of Chaos concert next week, and i need to know how much gas money to give my friend. She says her car get about 33 mpg on a good day, and it costs $20 to fill her tank. The concert is about 100 miles away, and we need to get there and back. If i could find the gas tank size, which she doesn't know, it'd be easy to figure this out, but google didn't help much, and i don't know much about cars. She has a 1991 Mercedes 190E. If someone could help me figure out gas tank size, or how much money i need, i'd really appreciate it.

Sorry if this sounds like a complicated math story problem :P

Pay her as needed. Pretty ****ing simple.

we have to figure out how much money we need total beforehand, none of us have jobs and we have to scrape together the money

#4

100 miles divided by 33 miles per gallon equals 3 gallons. Pay her enough money to buy 3 gallons of gas, and then a little more because you're not a cheapass.

#5

Just keep her goddamn tank full, simple.

#6

How does $5 sound? Maybe $10?

#7

did you try the owner's manual for gas tank size

ugh, i feel retarded :P

not sure how i didn't think of doin the math like that, thanks a lot

20 bucks to fill the tank just figure how much gas is per gallon. lets say gas is 2 dollars per gallon then she has a 10 gallon tank. now figure out how many miles you are going and how many gallons of gas that will take. 33mpg is about 3 gallons there which is $6.

#12

You'll need approximately $60, assuming it is $20 per fill.

Id say bring about $80 and next time go to a closer concert

how bout you run it empty, fill it up, and see how much gas it takes?

#14

14.5 gallons according to CarsDirect.

no closer concerts, i live in a crappy little town in idaho, closest concert venues are in boise

EDIT:

and ur math is way off, it's not 33 miles we can make it per tank, it's per gallon
