heres the deal...

for my legal studies class, we need to do an independent study...
we can pick any legal issue, so long as it is within the last 50 years, and in australia

i was hoping to do something to do with music.. classic rock/metal mostly...

i was thinking of doing copyright laws, but one of my friends stole that idea already..

any ideas pit?

Judas Priest goes to court
Dee Snider goes to court

Anything that has [insert metal band] goes to court should be fine.

That topic makes me SO angry
Someone needs to prove those fucking theorists wrong about music and massacres at schools.

But I'm sure there have been no real massacres in schools in Australia.

I'm trying to find a copy of Dee Snider's censorship speech...

Maybe you could look at the censorship of Metal... basically... just plagarise Metal: A Headbangers Journey.

That would be a good starting point to develop some legal themes you could work out.

I heard someone say that Fall Out Boy had amazing guitarwork. But, it was a 13 year old girl, so it didn't matter.

Australia? I'm sure AC/DC is bound to have something legal that happened there.

Yeah the priest suicide case of the PMRC hearings with Dee Snider who is actually a very smart guy if you watch the video of that hearing.

EDIT: Or that theory that metal/hard rock causes violence and suicide that should give you alot to write about.

read a book called Bang your Head, it's reliability as a source for your project is FTW.

it's about 80's hair metal, but touches on the whole hard rock from around Zeppelin to the beginnings of grunge.

I wouldn't call what we have here on the Bass Forum a mentality. It's more like the sharing part of an AA meeting.

Never heard of this but now I really want to read it where could I find a copy? Is it rare or is it still fairly common?

you can probably find it on Amazon, it's a pretty cool book, easy to read, but factual and pretty win.
