So I got my new recording gear, and played around with it for a while yesterday. Well, mainly just setting up everything, installing Cubase LE, etc., etc.

Just for fun, I decided to plug direct-in with my guitar and play around with that a little bit. Now, not that I plan to record guitar that way, but it made me begin to think. Would you be able to use effect pedals in the signal chain at all without damaging the audio interface? Most of the effect plug-ins seem to be of decent quality, but the distortion = horrible, lol. I was mainly curious because direct-in recording is what I plan to do when I pick up a cheap bass for that.
