Uninstall itunes.

It usually comes up with a message that says some thing along the line of:

"This iPod is not registered to this library. Would you like to erase and sync?"

Then you click no.

Should I feel like a retard? I feel like a retard. I just plugged it in and its charging, simple.

Whilst im here, The back button doesnt work on my Ipod.I can select a playlist or artist, but i have to turn it off/on again if i want to change. Any ideas on how I could fix it?

Turn the computer on, but don't enter the password to login. Then plug the ipod in.

The ipod will charge, and Itunes won't be able to open.

Itunes opens up automatically for me.

Because the charming people at Apple leave a background process that runs on your computer at all times.

You can disable it using a decent registry cleaner.

End the process iTunesHelper.exe.

That's the process that opens iTunes when an apple device is connected.

So that's why when I close it sometimes it opens back up by itself

Yeah, it's bloat, and as far as I'm aware it doesn't ask you if you want it.
