Alright Ive been posting way too much recently but here it goes...Im probably going to start upgrading my crate v18-112. I am leaning towards buying either a Greenback or GreenBeret (knockoff by warehouse speakers).
1) is the GreenBeret a good deal?
2) the stock speaker is 50 watts and sounds like garbage. The greenback or greenberet are both 25 watts. would decreasing the speaker wattage affect breakup? im looking for a good bluesey/classic rock sounding speaker.
3) would I be better served by just replacing tubes? or should I replace everything?

I think you should replace everything, tubes shouldn't cost as much as the speaker. I'm not sure about the wattage thing, but the warehouse speakers are great for the money.

lower wattage rating, sooner breakup.

you'll want either a speaker with a higher rating, or get a 2x12 to distribute the load between the two speakers. perhaps a 2x12 with a celestion G12H30 and a greenback (or vintage 30) would do nicely. or two greenbacks. or any combination you want.

its only a 1x12 cabinet...should I look elsewhere at like a veteran 30 or an eminence speaker then since I dont have 2 speakers to run??

EDIT: so I guess that is why everywhere I look up greenbacks it says something like "well suited for 2x12s"
