Ok, im pretty sure this is the right place to ask this question cause its under songwriting, but how exactly do people write for drums? im working on a song right now and i just cant seem to get any good beats behind the guitars/bass, anyone have any advice or tips on how to write good drumbeats behind a riff?

Well, its hard. With my band we normally have some kind of beat in mind but the drummer is at least 80% behind what we end up with.

figure out how you want to count the beat, then determine whether you want to emphasize the upbeat or the downbeat and then go from there.

Actually, this is the forum for songwriting involving lyrics, but I'll get back to you with the forum I think's appropriate for your question.

EDIT: I'd say Musician's Talk is the forum for you.
