So my amp (Crate GTX 212) is completely hammered and I need a replacement.
I was thinking of heading in the direction of a Mesa, but I'm not sure yet.

I'm just looking for suggestions/recommendations, preferably for a combo amp;
price doesn't really matter, but under $1000 CDN if possible.

Realistically, its solely for metal. (Black Dahlia Murder, Lamb of God, The Faceless, Meshuggah etc.)
Just looking for really good distortion and decent cleans, and good for both sweeps and really heavy chugging. As well, the better it handles low and bass-y stuff, the better. I'm mostly playing an 8-string, and my previous amp couldn't quite "grasp" the low-end.

Any help is appreciated,
thanks a ton.

Peavey 6505 combo FTW. And a chorus or EQ.
I'm putting my GAS on hold
for a couple months in order to pimp my ride.

Don't judge me.

I'm thinking a 5150/6505 would do the job.

5150 = Brutal gain, boring cleans
Mesa = Slightly less brutal gain, real nice cleans
