All of the sequencer programs have a fairly steep learning curve, some slightly easier than others but that is where experience and time comes in.

I don't find Reaper to be any more difficult than any of the other sequencers out there. And to be honest, and this might sound harsh, if you're not willing to put a bit of time into learning how to use your software properly (and this goes for all your gear) then you're never going to get decent recordings. Use the manual.

Personally, I would download Reaper for this. Free 30 day trial, after which it doesn't MAKE you buy it, although you should. It's only something like $40 for a licence, which is hardly a bank buster.
