Hello, I am looking into buying a pedal which I can use to blend effects with and pan my sound.

However, I only have one amp rig, so will this work? I am new to tech stuff so I basically need to know if I absolutley NEED a dry + wet amp to use a volume/pan pedal to blend an effect such as chorus, etc; or if there is some other way to do it.

The pedal in question is http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Ernie-Ball-6165-Stereo-VolumePan-Pedal?sku=152102 and I want to know if i can get the sound in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vCtw0EG0O4E.

i listened to the video, but i just need to clarify how do to this, and if i should buy this pedal or not

i've always found pop to be harder to play than metal... especially shred metal... it's just really fast tremolo picking and the occasional palm mute... and the only chords you have to worry about are power chords...

I know that buried inside of a BOSS DD-7 you can do panning and other effects like that. You probably aren't looking for that though
