I'm thinking about laying down about $600 for a new guitar. Some people may remember my Iceman ideas a while ago, I'm probably going to save the money I was going to use for that, buy a DTT, and use the money for that. But, in my nearby guitar shop, there's a very nice ESP LTD F-200, with a nice silver sparkle finish, EMG HZs, a Floyd Rose, and an afterburner. All for about $300. So, I was thinking about purchasing it, and putting Blackout Metals in that, and refinishing it sparkle pink. I think this would be a better idea than doing it to my Iceman because the Iceman is trem-less, and I have something else I'd like to do with that.

ESP LTD F-200 - $300
Seymour Duncan Blackout Metals - ~$200
Paint Job and any crap I might need - ~$100

an ESP-F would look stupid, IMO, with a sparkle pink finish...
other than that, awesome.

The ESP Forest looks awesome, and pink sparkles would make it sexy as ****.

But what would be BETTER is pink and black swirl with sparkles...
Then there's this band called Slice The Cake...

Bunch of faggots putting random riffs together and calling it "progressive" deathcore.
Stupid name.
Probably picked "for teh lulz"

I think the sparkle will hold up fine, but I want to superimpose a black and white outline of the FSM on the side or something like that. The main reason I want to do so is because there's a couple chips in the paint, and it does look nice, but it looks like it would get 'old' after a while.

I'd upgrade to a legit Floyd. In my experience, I've found that ESP keep their prices low by putting crappy hardware on otherwise decent guitars. I probably wouldn't bother with this project unless a new bridge and tuners were involved.

I suggest not screwing with the UGer with the best name on the site.

That would be sweet, but swirling with metallic colours doesn't work very well. The flakes spread out to much so it looks silly. Unless of course you lay down a metallic base coat and swirl with semi-transparent colours over it. That could work.

Swirl the color, do a clear spray with the glitter flakes in it over top

That's starting to sound like something you'd find on an old Danelectro...

he means original. not licensed.

Oh well, he said Legit and I assumed he meant one with the Floyd Rose name on it rather than... ya'know... like the Ibanez Double Locking trems

How much 'better'? I don't have the money right now for it and I kinda want to keep away from buying any new hardware.

idk, i just always go with passives, emgs dont really do cleans well either. but then again tone is pure preference.

That's why I'm not getting EMGs, I'm getting Blackouts. I'm not really expecting a clean sound.... at all.

on topic: sounds like a helluva fun mod project man. Sparkle pink will ROCK!!!! Can't wait to see pix!!

EDIT: Blandguitar, EMG's do cleans just fine...heard the EMG 60? or mayhaps the 18V mod on any guitar?
I've bought, sold, and traded more gear than I care to admit.

i dont have a full out opinion, just tossing in a little bit. if it was full out i wouldve made something up to back my statement. but lets not thread jack. you should go with an OFR ts.
