Ok so I got a Nvidia GeForce 8600 GT and i want to hook up my old N64 to the what i believe to be the Svideo input, but i've plugged it all up, but nothing shows up on my screen? What do i need to do?

You cant just run it through to your monitor, you need some kind of video in software that will recognise it. Have a look at the Nvidia display menus to see what you can do. My TV in card came with winfast PVR, you can try something like that, used to use it to play PS2 on my PC.

Is there any general software that can do this? because i've been looking through my Nvidia control panel and i cant find anything about video recognition or anything.

Googling how to play N64/PS2 on your PC will probably help. Not sure about general software but look up winfast. The program might have been called winfox, cant remember well.
