Hi Acoustic thread, got a wee bit of a problem with my guitar.

I got a Cole Clark FL2AC while back in the UK and when I got it home and played it I noticed that the headstock buzzes whenever I play the open D string. I checked over all the tuners, they're all tight, and I loosened the string and checked the nut which seems OK. Since then I've noticed it also happens when playing the open E. In addition to this I have noticed a quiet rattle if I gently shake the neck and I think this may be related. Can anyone shed some light on what the problem is? In fact while writing this I realized it may be coming from the string hitting the first fret when it's plucked. If this is so is there any way i can stop it?

You checked the tuning posts I'm assuming? Did you check the washers that are right under the tuning posts? My Martin was rattling as well. I just tightened them up and the problem was gone.
