I haven't got itunes so I don't really know anything about it.

What format are the tracks you download?

Is there anything you can download for free? I heard Hamish and Andy podcasts were free?

Can you play them on Windows Media player?

I googled but I didn't really get any answers.

Move this if it belongs somewhere else.

Thanks guys

Sucks. I nly use it to buy stuff cause 1. Dont feel like going to store 2. I hate dl illegal music cause i think the artists should get the money they deserve, but really, itunes is a crap piece of software that crashes so much and junk like that, but just because i have an ipod i use it. If you dont have an ipod DO NOT USE ITUNES NOT WORTH IT

I dont know why people bash itunes. While i used it. (before i got the far superior Zune) I never had any problems with it crashing or locking up.

Idk, its all based on personal oppinion. I thought it worked like it should and it really wasent that special.

Purchased music is in .aac format and can't be used by any one else. The actual songs in your library are going to be whatever you choose in the options to import them as, or what they already are - until you convert them, if you want.

Winamp can play DRM'd .aac as long as you have iTunes installed.

what i used to do before i got an ipod:

1. buy $15 itunes giftcard
2. redeem money in itunes
3. purchase songs
4. burn them to a CD
5. rip the CD in WMP as WMA's
6. put in the song information (title, artist, album, year, genre...)
7. synch to my crappy mp3 player
8. voila!

If you want the songs to be played on other programs download a free file converter or go to media-convert.com to do it for free and you only have to download the finished product.
