Did geddy record 'A passage to bangkok' on his ricky or his jazz?

Also, do you have any tips on getting that sort of tone?

Im thinking about doing this for my recording piece for A2 Music Technology.

All information I can find point to the Ric and it sounds more like that than the jazz. I wish he still used the double neck live though, I wasn't even alive when he did that.

On topic of the tone, I still consider myself a novice but use the bridge pick up, turn up your mids, and play near the bridge.

a lot of geddy's tone is in his self admitted awful technique, you can get fairly close by playing with a pick but you'd have to nail his style to get his tone

I think after this relentless adding for the last 10 mins, that Dan is the coolest looking. Goddamn welsh people and my great etc etc etc etc etc granddad is welsh.

Geddy started with a P-bass, used a Rick from Fly By Night until the 80's, then a Jazz. That song was almost certainly on a Rick.
This space foreclosed, due to the ailing economy.
