^Howlin Wolf's version of this is excellent as well

I suspect you'll have a great deal of trouble finding artists that deal strictly in rose coloured glasses territory, the bleak outlook comes in a package deal with the music here

Man the blues always makes me happy.
Try some Jimmy Thackery. Or some Popa Chubby.

reminds me of a quote from Futurama

"hey!, the blues, the tragic sound of other people suffering, that's kind of a pick me up"

i guess happy isn't the right word,
blues that is little faster, upbeat, maybe a nice groove to it.

Blues is usually not sad.

"The blues is feeling good about feeling bad."

Johnny Winter - Rock Me Baby
The king of Blues rock playing his bony white ass off

Muddy Waters - Got My Mojo Working
The uncrowned king of Chicago Blues, doing a rather upbeat number. Check out James Cotton on harp here, just sick.

Ronnie Earl - T-Bone Boogie.
This is upbeat jump-style blues guitar at it's best, he smokes out every lick but the kitchen sink!

Vidar Busk - "Low Down Shakin' Chill"
This tune is a nice mixture of slow and low, and high and fast, maybe a bit too slow for you.

Didn't quite know what you mean by that, so I gave you some different things
Specifiy what you want a little closer, and I'll be able to help you find more
(Check out the Muddy Waters and Johnny Winter videos, in particular )
