Hey ,
I'm currently looking for a new amp for metal . I can spend about $500 AUSSIE tops .

The Vypyr 30 and Cube 30 are about the same price in my local music shop , but i am wondering , which one is better for metal?Or are there any better amps for $500AU?

I'm using a crappy Squier Fat Strat at the moment.

Cheers,

At first it looks realy confusing but once you get the hang of it, it's really simple to use.

Id say this amp is good for playing anything. Trivium uses this amp so you probably can get a pretty good trivium tone. I didnt get the sanpera pedal but im thinking of getting one. I dont know if the sanpera II is worth it. Way too expensive. If you want a pedal that changes the channel get the Sanpera I.

I agree that the sanpera II is hell expensive too , is the sampera I worth it?

What are you going to be using it for?

If you change channels a lot and are using the wah a lot, get it.

Otherwise, no.

I'm gonna go against the grain here and say Cube.

Dunno, but it's always sounded more natural to me than the Vypyr, which is think has TOO many effects, as well as sounding a little bland/digital.

But that's just me.

Go listen and see which one you like. There is no advantage of the 30 Vyper over a 30 Cube.
P.S. don't limit yourself to just those two, try a few others also in your range. The Vox 's Valvertonix in the AD-VT-XL Series are no slouch when it come to great sound and effects in the smae price point.

Are there any other amps you recommend for metal in my range people?

If you're looking for metal take a look at the Vox Valvetronix, the XL means Extreme Lead. If you're looking for a amp built for more gain , distortion etc at this price point the Vox is the way to go. The AD15VT-XL come with a 10" speaker and doesn't sound "thin" and can get plenty loud and for around $160(USD) out the door probably the best bet for what you want, but listen to them before you make up you mind.

Get the Roland, I haven't tried out the Vypyr but the I've got Cube 30x myself and it's really good for a modeller!

I've heard they're both good. I like the Vypyr better, but either way you wouldnt make a bad decision.

How good are the distortions on these amps?
Is the distortion good enough to play stuff like Trivium , Metallica and maybe even heavier?
