I need a good amp with crunch
i play old Megadeth, old Metallica, Slayer, Pantera etc...
i have a Fender 65R which is good, becuase i also play Led Zeppelin, Nirvana, Doors, etc
but when i get a job i want a good 'metal' amp with crunch, so i can lay down some Slayer or Sabbath, and it will sound nice with palm mutes and stuff
one hopefully 50 watts or more
also, i heard alot of new and low end marshalls are garbage, and ive tried out a few, and i sort of agree
so any crates, line -6s, etc that are metal amps?

311SOVJH or whatever will be here in 5 minutes so I'll go ahead and get it ready;
1. Budget
2. Genres
3. Closest Major City

Judging by what you said your looking at the KK JCM-800 is probably way out of your price range. MG's are just mediocre at everything. Line 6's are ok but when cranked they get really fizzy and muddy. Personally my favorite cheap SS metal amp is the Roland Cube series, probably a good fit depending on your budget.

Actually a krank rev jr head just might be the ticket depending on how much volume you need

Peavy Vypyr has a few really high gain sounds

If you think that the Vypyr has few high gain sounds then I really must play at low gain! I've tinkered with a Vypyr a few times and it has more gain than I think I'd ever want to use. lol

none of the amps mentioned will give you "crunch" except the jcm 800

look for those or 800 clones, such as a lany protube aor, sovtek mig 50/60, red bear mk 60/120

you cannot get a real "crunch" without a fully tube powered amp. Thats where the term came from.

First of all, I enjoy deathcore for it's complexity and it's the only genre heavy enough for me

I want an amp good for playing hippie tunes. I want it to be an actual amp, not a tube amp.

I'm agreeing with the last guy. Take my Fargen for example, primo crunch tones (like sex in my ears). Go ahead, I know I'm setting myself up for jokes.

Head and Cab for $130? You don't need a head and cabinet, you need a psychological examination.

well, im looking for a good, 20 to 40 watt METAL practice amp, and then a 75+ Watt Metal amp,
budget for Practice amp below $300,
and for METAL amp, anywhere from $500 to around $1000
#15
i d say get ONE amp that sounds good at low volumes and of course it ll sound good at cranked volumes as well.....

assuming you have 1000 to spend in total, i ll say look for a used Mesa Mark series amp, or an engl Screamer 50 or something.
