Hey WTF, guess what???? I returned for one post just to help you with this. Pedals look good, except TS9 wouldn't be best as a boost. I would go with a Maxon OD-808. Also, I would suggest a delay/chorus/reverb pedal. Amp-wise I would go with the XXX and replace the tubes with JJ's taking out some of that excess brightness, or a JCM 800 boosted would be GREAT for thrash and hard rock. If your main focus is Metalcore, I would go with the 5150. If your main focus is thrash, I would go with the XXX. If your main focus is Hard Rock, i'd go with the JCM. Guitars, I would go with the Scecter. I would also look used. Hope this helped, and goodbye again

i never really liked HC since the first day i want there.
too much randomness in their amp section and their open forum is not very work friendly (lots of pr0n)

but if you like it there then fine, i cant force you to come back.

Agreed. I personally prefer the OD808 over most overdrives.
If you're looking for a bit more of an aggressive boost however, which I gues syou are with the genres you play, also look into the Krank Krankshaft.
The wah you could probably play with - I personally like either the Weeping Demon (which I THINK you've tried...? maybe) and the CFH for metal. I heard that the Amott brothers used the Vox wah on Doomsday Machine though?? Really not sure but that would be... interesting

In regards to your amp choice I personally think it all hinges on how good the Chinese-made 6505+ combos perform. If good, I'd go with that. If not, look elsewhere.

Lol, thats why I like it over UG. Who are/were you on t3h HCAF????

^ i got my self banned foar lyfe.
i cant really handle the randomness of their AMP forum its like the pit and GG&A had a bad love child.
and their open topic forum can resemble 4chan (AKA HELL)

@Yng
i have never tried the Weeping Demon or the OD808
and for the dely im thinking a Carbon Copy, cuz i dont need the fancy schmancy extras of digital delays.

Ah okay then. Must be thinking of someone else.

I'd highly recommend the OD808 though. I don't know quite how to explain why I prefer it; to me it just sounds 'better quality' I guess. Of course I could be wrong and it's a completely subjective thing
The Carbon Copy is very nice - I'm thinking of getting one myself but they're about £140 here which is about $204US. The EHX DMM is a good contender to consider also.

If you really like your les paul, then keep it and buy new pickups. I'd suggest Seymour Duncans. I like the Invaders and some of the JB models. I think the JB's would be better, but it's all personal preference, I think the neck model is perfect.

Pedals- not bad, but I'd definitely have a delay in there somewhere. Maybe a Boss DD-7 or, if you prefer analog, a Modtone Analog Delay. It's also always handy to have a distortion or fuzz around in case you feel like playing with it - check out a Boss HM-2 on eBay. And I'd also have a reverb pedal like the Line6 Verbzilla or Digitech RV-7 Hardwire.

Amps- If I was playing thrash/metalcore I'd go for a JCM900, but I don't like Peaveys. Maybe consider one of the Mesas you always rec. Alternatively, you could junk all the pedals and look for a used Line6 Vetta.

Guitars- I personally HATE Floyd Roses, but since I love Schecters I suggest either the Epi or a Schecter Damien-6.

And as for your LP, I'd probably put Corduroy's pickup in the bridge (if it's for higher gain) and look into a DiMarzio PAF Pro or, if you really want Strat-type cleans and will use your bridge pup for all distortion, a DiMarzio Humbucker From Hell. I have one of these with a Super Distortion in my Schecter Tempest - wouldn't change it for anything.

and for the delay im thinking Carbon Copy
and im putting a clean humbucker on my neck and a gainy one for the bridge.

As much as I love my amp, if your PRIMARILY playing those genres than I wouldn't suggest it over a XXX or 6505.

Then again if you dabble in it but mainly play other stuff like me, than with an EQ and OD/Boost it will do fine.

I was just playing some Job For A Cowboy today as a matter of fact.

what is you opinion on this pedal board
Keely Modded TS-9 or OD808 Sweet. Lots of good Tubescreamer options.
EHX Small Clone
MXR Phase 90 Good sound but it will just mutilate your tone. Plus, it adds a little dirt which is annoying to me, since I primarily use my phaser on clean strumming. For less than $100, I'd hit eBay for a used Boss PH-1.
MXR M-108 EQ
ISP Decimator
Crybaby 530Q
MXR Carbon Copy or EHX Deluxe Memory Man Carbon Copy should be useful enough for most purposes, especially since it's way smaller and has more delay time. The DMM is just so darn expensive.
Digitech Whammy You might want to look into a small true bypass looper for this one. Like the Phase 90, it's a big-time tone sucker.
anything to add/subtract/change ????
Pedalboard budget = below $300 or so
I stuck to pedals since that's what I know.

why the hell should he? you asked for opinions, his opinion is that you're planning on too many pedals - a valid opinion if you ask me.

other than that i agree with everyone in this thread so far, the suggestions have been going the right direction
300 bucks for that pedalboard might be a little...too little though...

If I were you I'd get a JCM 800/900, nice OD like the Maxon, maybe a delay but it's not necessary for what you want to play. For guitar, most things with a mahogany body fixed bridge gibson type setup would be fine. I prefer more simple setups.

I should also say what I said about the 900 goes double for the 800, metal is very hard to hit within bedroom volumes.

Still sick amps.
