can someone explain how to do this? i saw a video on ug.tv [im prolly the only one who goes on it] but he didnt explain it well enough.

"Snap" picking is a form of alternate-picking used to play fast passages. What makes it different from flat picking is that you don't use your wrist very much to move the pick, but instead your thumb and finger do most of the work. Basically you position your picking hand above the string at about a 45 degree angle and extend your thumb to push through the string, then retract it to pull back through. The goal is to be able to play fast passages while using minimal body movement.
