so im 15 and way ~80-85 kilograms
i got asked today to play an under 21's trial match against melbourne uni rugby club
now mums not to sure on the idea she doesnt want me to play
i rang the rep coach and my dad and the rep coach said i would probably be able to play but be carful etc etc.
da says to asess the whole situation and do a double take on it, by waching them warm up etc.
keeping in mind i have to play rep in canberra next weekend and i played under 13s when i was 8 going on 9,
do you think it's worth playing?

You are the best judge for yourself. Can your body take this? If you do come out with injuries, will it likely be some bruises and scrapes, or something worse? Your parents are right most of the time as much as it sucks to obey.

Go for it, although there is no shame if you can't take it yet, after all they'll be a lot bigger and faster than you ( well most likely).

i usually play blindside flanker but if i do play it mite be on the wing or i mite get a go in the forwards depending on their size

Nope. I played up as well when I was that age, playing 4 years above my age, but I wouldn't even contemplate playing 21's when I was 15. I'd do it now I'm in the U/18's, but no way back then. If you watch a game, they hit so much harder than you're used to. If you're a forward, you're going to be anally raped in the scrums and rucks. There's nowhere to hide in the U/21's like there is in lower age groups.
It's your choice if you want to do it, but I strongly advise you not to do it.

Definately not. If you're on the wing, then sure, go for it. But if you're anywhere in the forwards, I wouldn't do it for reasons stated above. I'm a 110kg prop, and I'd be hesitant to play 21's.

if you are gonna be a prop i would say no, if you are out in the centres even i would say yes, if your a big boy it would be ok maybe. if they see your a bit small and young they arent gonna go easy, ive played up before but 15s/16s even to 18s is a massive step becasue there is some massive growth there, but to 21s, thats insane.

Gotta agree with frets

People who play rugby are generally big bastards, you are pretty heavy for your age, 80 kilos translates to roughly 12 stone, so you weigh as much as me, maybe a little more and i'm 18. I don't do any muscle building exercises but just do a bunch of sit ups every other day or so to keep the beer gut off, but i digress, if you're up against guys my age, they will weigh alot more than you and it will be like a dead weight running into you when they tackle you, but if you think you are up for it, then go for it.
WHOMP

Think of that next time you are not allowed to laugh.

morals: whether or not mum the coaches you guys etc think its right for me to play
2: my character to make a mature decision based on the advice given
