Hey I am trying to palm these two powerchords:

--x--
--x--
--x--
--3--
--3--
--1--

and

--x--
--x--
--x--
--5--
--5--
--3--

I am having problems with the D string - it sounds less deadened than the others that I am muting. My palm is as close to the bridge as I can get it, but when I go to strum, I think maybe my hand moves in a way which makes that note on the D string less deadened. I've tried moving my hand around and applying different pressure to so if it makes a difference, but it doesn't seem to.

Can anyone give me some advice?

i always lay the complete right side of my hand over the strings above the bridge and keep it that way while playing

Try putting your hand at a slight angle on the bridge. You really don't need much pressure but you want to make sure you can cover all of the strings. Your palm is big enough that it should be able to properly mute all of the strings at once. Just mess around and tweak your palm muting hand until you have the proper sound. It takes some getting used to and adjusting, but its not that bad.
