I'm trying to figure out an open tuning that somebody is using on a cover on youtube. I pm'd the guy and of course he won't tell me what it is so I'm trying to figure it out myself. If someone wants me to post the link I will, but thought I would try to figure it out on my own first.

Basically, the chord progression is D -> A -> G -> A in the verse and there's a Bm in there in places as well. I think it's an open D tuning because he plays D with the bottom 3 strings or so open. Then for G he just plays a G on the low E string and everything else open. For A, he just plays A on the B string with everything else open.

I don't think it's regular open D, I think the low E and B strings stay the same, but does anybody have any ideas what the other strings are? TIA

EBDGBD is probably the tuning, and it would be open Em7.

I can't imagine anything worse than shagging to Mark Knopfler.

Maybe shagging Mark Knopfler, but that's about it.

Sorry, I think I screwed up when I said he played the A on the B string. It was probably the G string. Does that change things? I think the B is either tuned up to D or down to A.

Does EADAAD make sense? I think that's what it might be.

Or EADDAD. I'll play around with it.
