My Friend has an ESP LP that he had to leave at a friends house for some reason, idk why. and His friends nephew decided to Try to relic it. Keep in mind this is a BRAND NEW guitar less than a month old. Now what would be the best way to restore this thing back to it's original beauty?

wait... his nephew seriously decided to "relic" the guitar or was this a younger kid who just happened to drop it or do something that little kids do to it.

I'd stab the kid, sell his organs, and use the money to buy a new guitar. It looks like he took an x-acto to the back of it.

I reckon just re-painting the body should be fine. I've never done it, but It (painting) but it deosn't look too hard...

I don't think I'd kill the kid or anything like that. I'd just find whatever it was that he held most dear and WRECK...cough, cough... I mean... relic it.

I would finish relicing the guitar by bashing that kids head in with it.

If you're not taking it to a professional, my best guess would be you need to finish the entire thing down to the wood, where there are no layers of finish left and then paint from there and finish. I'm no expert though, but that seems like the best route. Go up to the stickied threads on painting and refinishing and follow those, and I think it should be fine, it'll be tedious, but hey maybe fun? Plus you can change to a custom color if you want, so that could be neat. Good luck.

And is there any chance you're fibbing? I mean this is a pretty epic tragedy you're telling here. I've never heard such a crazy story before, I laughed and then I cried, and then I realized that life just has little meaning to it after reading your post. I mean seriously, it's changed how I view humanity as a whole. How could a kid do such a treacherous thing?

Yeah I'm serious about the kid relicing it, he's 12 or 13 i think. And it's not like it's even a good job or anything! It's actually cut into the wood! D:
And It's not mine, it's my friends. And the comments about taking revenge don't help.
He's thinking about just leaving it because he doesn't have money to fix it.

I just feel really bad for him...

I don't know where you are from, but i would file a small claim in the local courts and have him and or his nephew up in court for damaging his property, probably his parents if the people are kids.

If you leave something at someone's house, they have a "duty of care" towards that property and it would seem that that was neglected in this instance.

That is what I would do. They may offer to pay for it under those circumstances.

You wreck it, you bought it.

If you decided to let him pay you for you to refinish it, then there is no need to go back to wood.

Look in the Ultimate Painting thread for some of my posts, but short:

Scuff to P220
Prime 2 coats
Sand to P400
Colour 2-3 coats
Clear 3 coats
Wet sand with P600-800
Clear 3 coats
Wet sand from P1000 to P2000
Buff and polish.

Use 2K Primer and 2K Clear.

That kid should pay for a professional. Or at least for the material to make a good repair job. I cant believe a 12/13 year-old would do this. if he was 10 years younger I could understand it. This kid should simply pay for it. Any parent would support this as a lesson for him.

this thread's full of trollnubs.

What are you gonna do, TS?

so far all you've done is complain about the guitar, tell us your friend's family is dead, and tell your friend (who's guitar this entire thread is about) to shut up about his own guitar.

Not to be an asshole, but threads like this one that make no progress will be flagged for spam.
