I'm playing Answering Machine by The Replacements at an upcoming gig, and I can't get the settings right. I can get it dirty, but then the notes all become muddy as well? Does anyone have any idea how to do this song?

I'm using a hollowbody electric and an RP50 pedal.

Yamaha GA-15, but I can't guarantee that I'll be using that on stage, since they have their own set up.
That sound will have all been down to the amp used and the studio production - you're not going to get it from a $70 FX unit and a cheap practice amp.
Actually called Mark!
