The will be heartache,

I believe it has to do with the Spanish Inquisition which took place in 869 AD after the Romans invaded France.

Running-typically something more upbeat, maybe classic rock, or some up-beat metal songs

Depends what I'm training for. If I'm doing martial arts, I train in silence. Better for focus. Otherwise I'll listen usually to metal and its subgenres. Usually something with good groove - Korn, Mudvayne, Ill Niño, Nonpoint, Sevendust.. Stuff like that.

IMO, fast-paced or harder rock music is a little too fast for me. It gets me TOO pumped for what I'm trying to do. I usually listen to Kid Cudi, Nas, or Method Man. Some rap beats are perfectly timed to the rep I'm trying to accomplish. Trying to keep beat with Slayer on the bench will seriously injure you...but you'll get pumped as a mother****er.

I was not offended
For I knew I had to rise above it all
Or drown in my own shit.

Anything with a decent rhythm and beat, that has sweet as guitar to get the primal juices flowing
Come back if you want to
And remember who you are
‘Cause there's nothing here for you my dear
And everything must pass

Lately I've been listening to Q101 when working out at home. I hear Rise Against, RATM, new Metallica and other fairly energetic bands on that station so it works for me.

My artists of choice: RATM, Rush, Nas, Snapcase, Black Dahlia Murder, Pearl Jam (their more aggressive tunes) and Deftones.

Verse, Comeback Kid, Have Heart, The Carrier, Black Flag, Minor Threat, Gorilla Biscuits, Bad Brains

Basically just hardcore punk in general. It's the most energetic genre of music in my opinion.
