Ive been playing guitar for about 4 years now and am very interested in buying a seven string.

what im wondering about is basically what would be the easiest transition and best quialit between these guitars:

1.Schecter Omen Extreme 7

2.Agile Interceptor 7 String

3.Ibanez RG7321

4.Esp LTD Stephen Carpenter 7

My budget is $450 and feel free to give me good alternatives in the price range

I've heard lots of good things about the guitars from rondo music and Schecter, but I can't say about the other ones, because, I don't play a 7 string.

consulting the 7 string thread would be a good idea, but besides that going with ibanez is a safe gamble. although, ive heard really good things about the stephen carpenter guitar. good luck

im not so sure about the esp the least because ive had middle pickups getting in the way of my playing.

i played the Schecter and the ESP, and i liked the Schecter a lot more.

you're not gonna want to take a dump in a gross, off-colored, vintage toilet. you want something that is white and pearly; something that shines. something that you can put your cheeks against and say, "f*** yeah"

I tried an RG7321 today and i thought it was really nice. Felt better than the SC7 (LTD) i tried there. I haven't tried an Omen 7 but schecter's 7 string necks are more like LTD's and i don't like them much. I haven't tried an interceptor but Agile seems to have necks similar to schecter as well so i don't think i'd like it as much.

Schecter's lever let me down, and I've played A LOT of their stuff, including older Schecters.
Schecter Stiletto Studio 5
Ibanez SRX2EX1
Gallien Krueger 1001rbii
Gallien Krueger Neo 410

Ibanez if you want a thinner neck (Which is very important on a 7 due to the wider neck IMO)

Schecter,Agile, or ESP if you want a thicker glossy neck

This is really a neck decision, since all of them are lower mid-range 7's,which means the quality is about the same and you'll eventually want to replace the pups.If I were you I'd look used and try to find an older MIJ ibanez RG7620 or 7621 since they're probably the best value on a 7 string you'll find today. They come with a set of real DiMarzio pups, are made in Japan with great quality, and the 7620 has the edge lo pro 7 trem which is one of the best trems out there IMO.
