I have heard they are good guitars but how so for metal, I also really like Ibanez but all the guitars that I seem to want have an edge-III tremolo which I constantly hear is a pain to maintain. So how are esp's?

...Their star endorsers(PRS has Carlos Santana, Dean has Dime, Ibanez has Satch, Vai and such, etc.) are Kirk Hammett and James Hetfield.

This isn't a question.

It's a fact.

Only switch "ESP's" and "Are"'s places.

ESP Guitars are almost universally associated with Metal.

Absolutely Not, don't you know what ESP stands for? Elongated Strumming Penises. They are guitars made for penises that want to play guitar, but just cant get the hang of a "people" guitar.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

ESP is definitely good for metal.

Most of their guitars come standard with EMG active pickups, usually 81/85 or 81/60, along with either a stopbar tailpiece, or a Floyd Rose trem.

They're endorsed by:

James Hetfield (Metallica Rhythm Guitarist And Vocalist)
Kirk Hammett (Metallica Lead Guitarist)
Alexi Laiho (Children of Bodom Lead Guitarist And Vocalist)
George Lynch (Dokken Lead Guitarist)
Jeff Hanneman (Slayer Rhythm Guitarist)
Roope Latvala (Children of Bodom Rhythm Guitarist)
Will Adler (Lamb Of God Rhythm Guitarist)
John Donais (Shadows Fall Lead Guitarist)
Rob Arnold (Chimaira Lead Guitarist)
Matt Devries (Chimaira Rhythm Guitarist)
Ritchie Sambora (Bon Jovi Lead Guitarist)
Ron Wood (Solo Artist)
Stephen Carpenter (Deftones Lead Guitarist)
Michael Paget (Bullet For My Valentine Lead Guitarist)
Michael Wilton (Queensrÿche Lead Guitarist)
Gus G. (Firewind Lead Guitarist)
Wayne Static (Static-X Rhythm Guitarist)
Page Hamilton (Helmet Lead Guitarist)
Dan Jacobs (Atreyu Lead Guitarist)
Travis Miguel (Atreyu Lead Guitarist)
Max Calvera (Soulfly Rhythm Guitarist)

As you can see, it's the domain of metal guitarists.
