I have been using either a Mesa or Marshall for a while, but where i am right now, I have to deal with a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe. The amp has amazing clean tones, but the dirty channel is way to Bluesy for my taste. Sounds a lot like Hendrix or Stevie Ray Vaughn.

I am looking for a sound say like Taking Back Sunday, Blink 182, Breaking Benjamin, Anberlin, etc.

Hi, i right now am looking for a good Distortion/Overdrive pedal to fit a more [B]Alternative sound. Say around less than $100?

Thanks for any help

You looked into Big Muffs?
I'd try that first then move onto maybe a Turbo Ratt.

Epiphone SG G400 Custom/Gibson SG
Digitech Whammy
Napalm Whammy Blender
Blackstar Overdrive
Artec Analogue Delay
Shine Phaser

You're going to struggle to get those tones from a Hot Rod, they're simply not designed to produce them no matter what you put in front of them. First thing you need is an EQ pedal though, after that it's either going to be an OD or distortion....it really does just depend on what sounds best through the HR though.

the ibanez smashbox is decent for those kinds of tones i hear.

or a good overdrive to make that amp go heavier..

^ I've tried the smashbox, and I must say I didn't like it at all. Very sterile sounding.

Boss pedals are great after modifications. Stock, I wouldn't recommend it.

I definitely second a Fulltone. Love the Octave, and had the chance to test drive an OCD and it's killer. If I didn't get my TS9DX modded, I'd sell it and get the OCD.

To me the ds-1 sounds tinny. I'm sure its great for mods though.
