As none of you know, my father and I have been building 2 guitars.
His one is finished, mine is being assembled right now (Still has some tweaking to do)

First Build, It's my own design, learnt a hell of a lot while building it and had alot of fun.

Anyway, enjoy

More pics upon completetion.

That looks really good. The carving is a bit much for my tastes, but it's quite different. I hope you're happy with it

interesting, looks good but i'm not to sure about the paint job and carves (quality wise)
It's cause i'm from NZ isn't it
The carves are pretty good quality apart from 1 bit where it got dented somehow.
The paint job is like 12 light coats of white with 8 coats of clear, it's done well and has been cut and polished slightly. The only small problem is we don't have a spray booth and you can see a few specs of dust on the back.
(Speaking of the back, I may upload some pictures tomorrow.

why so many coats of paint?
Talk about a choking wrapped in plastic guitar!
light coats dude, like the first 7 coats you could still see the maple from the mahogany.

Okay i know the original edge would probably sound better but a bigsby would look so damn awesome on that guitar.

I love it. Especially the contours. Was thinking of doing a sort of X that way as a hardtail. May do yet. But really excellent and eye-catching job. Well done. Hope you'll post up a youtube or something we can hear it on.
I pick up my guitar and play

It looks awesome! It looks like some sort of Japanese Mockingbird, but cooler.

Very nice. Way to think outside the box. The only down side I can see(for me)is the position of the first(volume?)knob. I'd be hitting that constantly. What kind of guitar did your father build? Do we get to see it?
#17
Hey guys, My Dad did the same shape except without the contours and didn't paint it, just laquered it clear.
I'll post up a picture of my Dads, But I dunno if I can do a video though... no video camera
If I can get a camera I certainly will!

Hey guys!
Sorry for the long time without posting, but I haven't been able to find the camera after I took the photos.
They aren't of the guitars, but of my Dad and I playing them together for the first time.
I'll get some ones of the guitar soon

looks like a mockingbird to me but with a smoother top horn and a nice carving pattern
#24
Thanks!
Yeah, I designed it with those two models in mind actually!

I liked the avenger, but didn't like how the big horn was on top.
I also wanted a mocking bird because I saw a reallly sexy white one in a local music shop, so I took abit from each and tried to make something more my own.

Very cool design. Great project with your dad. You aged like 5 years from the first pics you posted in '09.
