I've never had this before but I can't get the volume and tone controls back on my Gibson Les Paul. I've changed the pickups to emg 81's so there are new volume and tone pots in there now. Any suggestions?

Did you use short shaft or long shaft pots?

Yeh sorry, it's the old volume and tone knobs don't fit on the new long pot shafts. Well they sort of do but they don't go all the way down, just kind of sit on the top. I'm not sure if I really want to buy new knobs because it's a Les Paul Voodoo and it's got kool red dials on it

they should fit man, just hard to get on
you can always take it to a tech adn get the knobs modded

Yeah but those 'kool red dials' don't fit anymore. Seriously, just get some new knobs. Or you could change the pots again.

The ends may be spread to far apart. Squeeze the end a little and see if they go on better. Sometimes you need to adjust the inside and outside nut on the shaft so there is very little threads exposed so the knob will be closer to the body.
