Okay, now i don't know whether there is an actual dedicated Motorcycle thread.

I know there is one for bikes, but not one just for Motorcycles.

I searched and found nothing, so if it's already done this will just get closed so no big deal.

Anyway, If this does stay open it will be a place to talk about motorcycles and everything related!

Taking a CBT in the next month or two-whenever I can afford a 125 CC scooter or bike of some description. When I join the navy, I'll take a full licence and get me a Ninja. Love thos bikes, my dad's had a few over the years.

Well i felt slightly stupid. I'm 22, and passed my driving test at 17.

I've always been a member of the 'bikers drive like morons' club.

Then i met my current girlfriend on the 24th of this month last year. I remained in my mindset, until she surprisingly booked me on a CBT. (Now, she's been riding since big enough to hold a bike up, her mum and step dad are instructors, as is her dad)

So i went on it and from the second we got the bikes going i absolutely loved it.
You really do see the disrespect from car drivers towards riders.
For instance, the day after i passed my test, we went for a ride to her uni....me, her, mum and stepdad. We all had hi-vis on, me and her L plated up, with her mum and step dad riding in front and behind us.

At some lights a car decided to cut in front of me, knowing he wouldn't get in front of my girlfriend and her stepdad. So we now had them two, a nissan micra, and then me and her mum. Ridiculous.

Nothing can stop me now though and i'm about to get a 125 to get some experience before i do my big test on a Ninja 500

That Aprilla is stunning.

I'm more into naked bikes. I'd love to pick up something like these two for my next bike:

I love the effort you took. Well done. There's probably not many bikers on here, so i'm not expecting it to be flooded, and it's not 'my post' it's just a place where someone can talk about real bikes if they wish.

The first one is a Triumph Street Triple. The second one is a Yamaha FZ1 (European model, the North American one is lame).

I've never, ever been in that club. I've been riding pillion on my dad's bikes since the ageof 5 or 6. Then when my dad nearly died after getting hit by a drunk driver on his way home from work, it just created the mindset "car drivers just don't care about bikers".

You really do see the disrespect from car drivers towards riders.

Mindset has been affirmed

Ahh i think i read about that in MCN this week. Something about how everyone thinks it's a girls bike but it actually pisses on most 'mens' bikes of the same class.

The only thing i've actually ridden up to now is a Yamaha YBR125:

They're brilliant starter bikes from what i've read, and my girls stepdad swears by them.
I also got 75mph downhill out of it haha.

Im sorry, that was my last spam. Hope we can all be friends and NOT report each other.....

Oops, my finger slipped and clicked that little red !.

Does look very similar! How much did that cost? Cause i need something cheap just to get me on the road. Getting one off the old in law but he's on a cruise and don't get back for weeks.

Then there's the gear as well £££'s!

I got that 2nd hand for £900 + £430 insurance (Piss take in N.Ireland )

I would reccomed a more popular make for a 125, most of the parts for mine are only availabe at the place the bike was bought and some of the prices are a joke

Haha that's cool you'd get crucified over here. And mopeds never interested me, they're too.....slow.
My girlfriend had an Aprilia RS50, basically a moped with racing trim - by all accounts a dangerous bike to ride.

EDIT: £450 for insurance? Fully comp, the day i passed my CBT, i was quoted £94...which includes oversees riding and low excess.

That's badass!

Something like this Honda Rebel 125cc

For when I'm ready to learn, I reckon. It'll have to wait a month or 3 now, though.

I'd be so happy with that, it's an excellent first 'proper' bike.

I'm not as worried about my test, cause there's an official DSA release that shows you what it's all about, and it's handy (as a lot of instructors still don't know what it's all about)...can be found on youtube.

I think a lot of the manoeuvers can be practiced somewhere quiet in your neighbourhood.

Aye, I'm tempted to bid on that rebel right now. But I think it'd be a bad idea!

It'll have to wait a bit

As for your cheap as hell insurance, it's probably because you're over 20 and learnt to drive already

I just bought my first motorcycle a few weeks ago. Now that school is done I'm going to go get my permit so I can start riding.

This isn't actually my bike, but it is the same model:

I'm English, but live in Canada.

We have a good mix of sports bikes and cruisers in North America, but very few naked street bikes. I was in Spain last year and noticed they have lots of naked bikes and few cruisers or sports bikes, the opposite
