If you listen to metal, do you have long hair, do drugs and headbang? If you like rap, do you dress like a gangster, ect....

I don't fit in with my stereotype at all. I listen to Death Metal, and i'm a total nerd. I do really well in school, and study heaps, all while listening to Cannibal Corpse and Opeth. Most people expect me to listen to Opera or something, and arer shocked to realised I like Death Metal. Most of my school listens to crap like Miley Cyrus and Soulja Boy.......

no. i dont really fit into any stereotypes at all.

I have no opinion on this matter.

I listen to some metal, I don't do drugs and I headbang a little. I don't dress in band t's and I rarely dress all black.

Actually you do fit into your stereotype. There have been studies done and they found that the 'nerdier' kids are more inclined to listen to metal than other kids.

dont call it nerdy, it's not PC.

Kind of....I fit into the "indie kid" stereotype; listening to bands not many people have heard of, dressing like an indie kid, just having to be different from the crowd, etc. I listen to lots of different genres, but that is probably the one I identify with the most.

My current favorite artists are the Goo Goo Dolls, Jeff Buckley, and Nick Drake. So I'm guessing singer/songwriter would be the stereotype? If so, appearance-wise, I wear jeans with either a band t-shirt or a button-up shirt and I have medium length hair. Personality-wise, I'm kind of quiet, the opposite of macho (not necessarily effeminate, but you get the idea), and I'm emotional. So I suppose I do fit the stereotype.

Im nerdy but not you "stereotypical" nerd. I have heaps of friends and am pretty good at sport. I'm just smart so people expect me to like Opera and Classical. I have one other "nerdy" friend that listens to metal, and the rest listen to "normal music" atleast some of the chicks in my class like AC/DC.

not really. i don't really have any specific stereotype to fit into. i just have a ton of artists i like, and most of them don't have any stereotypes that surround them.

It depends on who you ask I guess. I have several groups of friends, some music fans, some not so much. I'm top 10% in my school, but I don't fit that stereotype too well.

'Just smart' = total nerd

Nerdiness doesn't come from being smart, it comes from being socially awkward.

I am emotional in the sort of “I will punch you in the ****ing temple” kind of way and the “light hearted, happy go lucky, this is really just a show” sort of way. I guess that’s why I write.

but being a nerd can also mean having an obsession with something considered "uncool", like Star Trek and video games (or in my case Manga and Anime)

I didn't go to the last few school socials because I thought the music was crap. Boom Boom Pow must be the worst song ever written, and apparently it was playing half the night.

But I do go out with friends often. Only cool people like us go bowling! Atleast there were girls....

True. I guess the only way to define a nerd is to actually show someone one. But usually Star Trek and vidya and the like are common to most nerds.

well I listen to Vader, Testament and Alex Skolnick Trio. Generally I Like Trash, Death and Black Metal, but only a few bands.

I dont do any drugs, I even dont drink beer.
I try to wear bandshirts and dress black, but generally my clothes are pretty "normal" (by normal I mean normal, no gangster hip hop / skatepunk style).
I try to grow my hair out but I think it wont be too long...
And Yes, im socially awkward, very shy, cant talk to girls and strangers.
So, Pit, do I fit ?

Diesel has played Dungeons & Dragons for over twenty years[15] and wrote the foreword for the commemorative book 30 Years of Adventure: A Celebration of Dungeons & Dragons. In the 30th Anniversary of Dungeons & Dragons issue of Dragon Magazine, they examine the fact that Diesel played Dungeons & Dragons, and reveal that he had a fake tattoo of his character's name, "Melkor," on his stomach while filming xXx. Diesel has an interest in the online MMORPG World of Warcraft as seen in interviews with Jonathan Ross [16] and Curt Schilling, and also as evidenced by the installation of a computer game system on one of his cars.[17]
