Ok UG, i know there are like 999999 threads like this every day, but bear with me.

Budget: $400 at the moment, but will have around $650 by christmas

What i play: t3h br00t4lz (metal), clean tone doesnt matter to me much. I would like an amp that can achieve a tone like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Kz_17M5ZJk&feature=related

Do i Gig: Not at the moment but probably will within the future

Am i willing to go used: yes, here is my local craigslist http://norfolk.craigslist.org/

Some options i'm considering: Blackstar ht-5 with an O/D, B-52 at-112, used peavey 5150 (cant find any), or save up for the new 6505 112

I want this to be the last amp i buy for at least 5 years, just keep that in mind

I think black doom death metal is just plain stupid. go flame on me but i can't hear nothing but shit on those songs with everything in drop A or below. also it could've been without lyrics as you'd never hear them anyway.

another thread for a mod to waste their time closing.

seriously there is an "ONLY what amp thread" for a reason

your options look good...maybe add a used Peavey XXX to your list?

I'm going to troll your CL and see if anything jumps out...

EDIT: don't listen to post above, nobody checks that thread anymore anyways...

the only time somebody reports these kinds of threads is if you put 'what amp' in the thread title.

a Mesa Rectiifer would be great for the kinds of tones that you want.

but i suggest the B-52 or the Used 5150 if you dont want to save $800+.

Can the b-52 achieve the tone im looking for, because it seemed a little less heavy than the 5150 when i played them

Save up for the new 6505+ 1x12 combo, or look for the head used and get a decent 2x12 cab (Vader, Avatar, Mesa, Randall, etc.)
Then there's this band called Slice The Cake...

Bunch of faggots putting random riffs together and calling it "progressive" deathcore.
Stupid name.
Probably picked "for teh lulz"

I was just about to post that Peavey Ultra, but make sure you check it out good. I don't think those pictures are of the actual amp. He calls it a Mesa 2x12 in that and the earlier postings, and talks about wear that's not in the pictures. Could be a Digitech Grunge for all we know.

edit: Nevermind. I've just never seen a 2x12" slant cab like that.

nice, I know a guy who is in contact and considering joining winds of plague.

as for the amp, get a halfstack, and go tube.
I've got a Marshall DSL100 and it gets brutal, and I've seen them available for around $600.
You'd need a cab too tho

Good one eyebanez .. I was gonna post that too, but I'm not sure how they sound. I was posting it more for the mesa cab

Are you willing to travel within your state (I say this cuz I've gone a state over (Nevada) just to pick something up)

Maybe like Richmond Virgina? If so,

do you have another CL area thats close enough to you?

Dude, did you just put $650 and "tube" in the search on his CL? Cuz I did that and I'm getting all the ones you are. You just post them quicker and I have no clue if they would even be good for him. Amp n00b..

TS: Try that Fallen Angel and see if it gets heavy enough for you. Seriously. $300? Pfft.
I wondered why the frisbee was getting bigger, then it hit me.

Word! The bass cabs on my CL go for about that much. Always worth a shot since it's a hundred under your budget already.

I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.
