Me and my drummer mate have started busking... So far we're doing adaptations of the following and need some ideas for new additions to our set:

Chop Suey - System of a Down
Lonely Day - System of a Down
Ariels - System of a Down
In this river - Black Label Society
Solar Winds - Devin Townsend

Please note the songs are instrumental unless fairly easy to sing, such as in this river. :p

Any ideas are appreciated

Look at Dave Matthews stuff. He and another guy (sorry, forget his name) do shows and they're pretty awesome.

Also, Fligh of the Conchords, and Tenacious D!

If you're going to busk out on the street you'll need to sing popular songs that most people will know.
Friends, applaud the comedy is over.

I'd dance with you but...

Your best bet is Wonderwall, no joke

Yeah I was just **** at thinking of songs that everyone knows, so I basically just took a few that a fair few people would know. Surprisingly enough it's going really well even with what we have so far, despite them not exactly being massively mainstream songs.

What You Want - John Butler Trio
Ocean - John Butler Trio

originals

If you're busking, your best bet is to go with originals. You never know, maybe someone can hook you up if they like your music (of course this shouldn't be your main goal, but it's just fun to play originals as well).

Why exactly are you busking?

...If you're poor then how come you have internet?

Quite a few poor people have internet. It's practically essential nowadays.

Also, you don't HAVE to be poor to busk (though that is the norm). You could just do it for the love of the music.

That's really cool man, I'd do it if I had an acoustic guitar.

Yeah we're basically doing it just for the love of music. We're both music students and have a massive lack of things to do... So we're both promoting ourselves and doing what we love at the same time.
