Hey all!
I need a recommend for a great guitar painter/shop.
I've decided to get a custom job for a badly taken care of Washburn Dime.

Let me know who you guys have dealt with (who rulez, or who to stay away from)

Thanks!

Although the USA is a big place, postage works great, so I would suggest you get quotes from some of the best painters out there, if you really want a great (probably expensive) job.

Ed Hubbs, SlickPaint etc. Look for airbrush artists or custom car painters as a guide.

It does depend on what sort of job you want done?

What sort of budget do you have, because let me tell you; any Pro, will want a minimum of $350-$500 for even a basic paint job.

I am in the UK and I paint, so I know what I am talking about.
Not suggesting you send it to me (although I could probably do it!)

those numbers are within my budget.
Still not sure about whether Im going to go with a solid color, burst or design (which I know will affect the cost depending on how intricate).

I've never had a guitar re-painted before.
Generally, would the $350-$500 include prep? (stripping, filling, sanding)

Thanks for the info!

Stripping, filling and so on all takes time and time is money.

You will have to ask the individual what they would prefer.

I imagine, that if it was sanded and any problems filled and sanded, ready fro primer, it would help, but discuss that when talking about the price (you don't want to do all that and then still get charged the same!)

A burst is really underselling the cost of a custom paintjob mate. Be a bit different!
