So,
I'm sure most of you have seen my wolf guitar build (if not the link is in my sig). Well its time to try and 1 up that build.

Here's the specs:
-neck thru / string thru
-3 piece neck (mahogany/ maple/ mahogany)
-mahogany/ maple/ walnut/ maple wings
-SGish body shape
-angled headstock (3 and 3)
-2 custom humbucker pickups from electric city pickups
-one master volume, "sound shaping" tone setup (2 tones: the first tone will be setup normally, a low pass filter, and the other will be setup as a high pass filter. theoroetically this will allow for some very unique tones)
-rosewood fingerboard with skull and rose inlays
-skull and rose carvings throughout the boday and headstock.
-tune-o-matic bridge
-black or gold hardware
-I may partialy scallop the fretboard
-24.75" scale length

I already glued the body and neck together and cut it out. I also started the carving. I'm at work right now, so I will get pictures up as soon as I get home this evening. Questions and opinions are always welcome.

YES! Someone else doing a High-pass on their build! You are my hero right now! If you don't mind me asking, do you have a wiring diagram for it, or is it all in your head?

As of right now, I am planning on using simple first order passive high and low pass filters, but I'm gonna put a bit more thought into it to see if I might be better off with an active filter. If I go with the active filter then I will probably use a 2nd order butterworth or bessel filter. When I decided on how I'm gonna do it then I will post a schematic.

Pics comin in a few more hours...can't wait to leave work.

Picture time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is still a lot of work to be done, but this is where I'm at so far.

BTW, where the rose vines go over the maple/ walnut; I'm gonna put mahogany on top of it so that vine goes over the maple/ walnut.

You could post on UG during breaks, watch youtube videos, read up on some theory, watch porn, or any computer-related activities you enjoy. There are other options as well, such as TV, sexual intercourse, or even just take a snack and water break.

You need to start a business man, your awsome designs would go for a nice price. Especially since the guitars look like they are still shredding machines rather than flesh shredders. And when I say flesh shredders I mean those people who build awsome looking guitars but look like they would rip the flesh from your hands if you tried playing them. If I ever get rich you could bet you would be one of the people I would talk to for a dragon guitar.

I had limited computer access over the weekend so I will try and answer your questions now.

First, thank you for all your positive comments. I'm glad you appriciate my work.

I am selling this guitar once I'm done with it. I don't know a price yet, when I figure that out I will let everyone know.

I do plan on starting my own business, in fact i already got the ball rolling on that. It will be a general woodworking business, not just guitars. I will build anything.

As far as the rose and skulls theme; I seen a few tattoos featureing roses and skulls and I thought that was cool, so I went with that.

The chisels I'm using I got at woodcraft.com. The smaller ones are flexcut and the larger ones are PFEIL "Swiss Made".

The carving is going to take awhile so updates my be slow for a while. I will post new pics whenever there is noticable advacement on the project.
Thanks again for all your support.
