There was some noise outside, and when I went to investigate, I found four baby squirrels by the side of my house. I'm assuming my cat ate their mother, and started playing with the babies. He didn't kill them, but dad says they probably wont go far without a mom. The most we did for them was find them a nest (one that used to belong to a bird) and put them under a tree and left some bread. I wont be letting the cat out any time soon, but, is there anything more that I can do? I don't want them to die

aww

I think it's best not to interfere, they need to learn to care for themselves. maybe give them some food once in a while, until they get old enough to get their own.

Dump them in radioactive sludge and then leave them with the nearest martial arts master.

Within months you may have your very own crime fighting team.

You are a lucky one! I've had baby raccoons before, no squirrels though.

We surprisingly don't have vets nearby, and I doubt any of them deal with wild animals :/

I've rescued one of these as a pet before, but a baby squirrel totally wins

one time my dog found a baby bunny in our yard. i looked out the window and saw him grabbing something small and fuzzy in his mouth and tossing it in the air. he didnt eat it though, he just wanted to play.

They look cute. Give them some oats and some water or something. Are you sure there's not a specialist vet around?

This is what I want to do, dad says they'll eat the house though. I believe him, but he says they wont do well on their own either.

i used to have a pet raccoon...it was badass...it would sit at the table like a real human and pick its food up and it was potty trained and stuff...it only had one eye though cause the dog got a hold of it....

I say raise them to be warriors who fight in the sewers and have each one specialize in a certain weapon.

Add some radioactive waste and you got some Teenage Mutant Ninja Squirrels.

We kept ours in an old cage we used to have for a guinea pig

I can't guarantee anything, but ours did fine and we interacted with it way more than we probably should have

I'd say I wont eat them until they're older and no longer cute, but they're squirrels, they're always cute. Also, i'm pretty sure there's no specialists nearby. We don't have many problems with wild animals around here

Before I was born my parents had a pet screech-owl that they rescued. They found him in the yard with a broken leg. They kept him in a cage but let him out a lot. He hopped around on one leg. He died of old age, forgot what they named him.
We're only strays.

I'm not sure how you would take care of them. Probably ask an online vet. That would probably be the best bet.
#37
Aww they're so cute!! Just keep a watch on them but I wouldn't interfere too much with them. They are wild animals after all.

dad agree to taking them in, said I could do with them what I want, he secretly wanted to keep them anyway, he loves animals. Besides that, I guess they're already taking a liking to him, when we went over to them earlyer, they pretty much ran up his arm. I'm just going to see if a friend of mine still has a cage or something

That's great. Make sure you read up on how to take care of them. Good luck.
