I'm saving up for a rickenbacker and i need a new amp to replace my old fender rumble 25.

i want a good amp that will bring out the punch of the rickenbacker real nice, any suggestions?

also it would be nice if the amp was under $600

i personally like ampegs. And uhhhh if you dont mind me asking, where are you getting all this money? lol

$2000 for a bass, $600 for an amp ... something's not right, even if it's the almighty Rickenbacker.

Make sure to play the Ric before you buy it. The new ones feel like big light plastic toys to me. Can't stand 'em one bit.

On that budget, an Acoustic (brand) amp would be a good option, I guess.
Telecaster - SG - Jaguar
Princeton Reverb, Extra Reverb
P-Bass - Mustang Bass
Apogee Duet 2 - Ableton Suite

it's so cute!!!!

knowing Markbass, it probably sounds pretty good.

also check out larger amps, if you ever get a band outside of church, 200 watts starts sounding pretty good, and way better than a pimped out shoebox.

I wouldn't call what we have here on the Bass Forum a mentality. It's more like the sharing part of an AA meeting.

What I was thinking. http://bass-guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/SWR-WorkingPro-12-200-Watt-1x12-Bass-Combo-Amp?sku=481993#new

And I know you said practice amp, but I need to suggest this one because for some reason they're not sold out yet. http://bass-guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Kustom-Groove-310C-Bass-Combo-Amp?sku=480765

I would probably stretch my budget to get a Ashdown MAG 300H head and a MAG 210T cabinet. You could do a similar setup with GK or Kustom gear. This would give you plenty of tone shaping options, excellent clarity, and plenty of power. If you latter decided to have band practice in the garage or play a small show you would have a rig that could get the job done.
