In what order, and with what, should I replace my gear with in order to get better recording quality?

Squier Strat -> to a Schecter C1-Plus
Peavey Vypyr 30 -> I kinda dig the amp
Guitar Hero WT Microphone -> _________
Reaper Recording Software -> _________
I don't believe in signatures. Ah, sh...

There's your problem We all know a Guitar Hero guitar isn't a real instrument but just to be clear, a Guitar Hero mic is a disgrace to all microphones in the world. Might as well record with your phone.

EDIT: The Shure SM57 should do you justice.

Try looking into a external sound card, or audio interface. They will make your recordings a lot better.

REAPER is great.
The Shure sm57 is a great guitar mic.
