I currently own an Epiphone LP black beauty. It's been great so far, but whenever I do semi-acoustic stuff, like chords, if I strum too hard it seems to crackle a tiny bit throughout the chord. Does this need to be fixed, or should I just use less force when strumming?

Could be the pots or switch need cleaning.

So, probably need to take it to a professional?

Bought this used, btw. Crackles happen at random, only once or twice per acoustic songs at best. Only 3+ finger chords get this, too.

Well that's what i'd check first at least. Cleaning pots isn't hard. Just get some contact cleaner and apply it. I've never done it myself so i couldn't tell you exactly how to do it but i'm sure you can find plenty of instructions and videos on it online.

Yeah, for a first time LP user it seems pretty impossible to even find the pots lol
