hey ive been useing a peavey bandit for a few years and am looking at upgrading i have an epiphone les paul midnight with emgs and a pod xt live at the moment and was thinking of getting

That's literally the best 2x12 cab on the market. good choice!
as for the DSL, i would consider saving the extra for the JVM 50 head, much more versatility.

JVM is overkill, overpriced, and awful IMO.

I say go for the DSL.

I'd go for the closed-back version of that cab. Otherwise, it's one of the best on the market, but that wouldn't give you a halfstack, that'd give you a 1/4 stack!
